What we need are people willing to show up early, stack chairs, watch kids, make coffee, and say hello to strangers — for a few months, before there's anything to show for it.

Why Prosper? Why now?
I want to be honest about how this actually started, because it wasn't a strategic decision. Before I had ever set foot in Dallas — before "Frisco" or "Prosper" meant anything to me at all — I already had a strong, specific sense in prayer that this was where I was headed next. Not "somewhere in America." Not "wherever makes sense." North Dallas, specifically. That prompting showed up in 2023, before I'd ever booked a flight here. I didn't have a reason yet. I just couldn't put it down.
When I finally did visit later that year, everything I'd been sensing for months suddenly had a face and a zip code. This wasn't background noise anymore — it was a real place, and I could see why God had been pointing me here long before I understood the reasons.
Even so, I didn't move on a feeling alone. In January 2025, before I'd committed to anything, I spent 45 days on a water fast — not to convince God of anything, but to cut out the noise so I could stay close to Him and hear Him clearly. By the end of it, there was no more question.
That March, I came back to preach at Zion Church and Grace Generation Church. That trip put me on the ground in a way a visit never could, and it only confirmed what the fast had already settled. That summer, I moved to DFW.
Fifteen years ago I left the US for India, where I was born. I planted a church in Visakhapatnam and built schools across India. Pastor Madhu Kandikatla was assigned as campus pastor there, and he's done an incredible job running both the church and its Bible college — which freed me up to come home and do this again.
Prosper is growing faster than almost anywhere in the country. Most people here moved recently. Most are still figuring out where they belong. We'd like to be part of the answer to that.
Never really done church? Good.
Wear whatever
Jeans, shorts, whatever you had on Saturday. Nobody's checking, and there's no dress code to get wrong.
You're out in about 70 minutes
Music, a talk you can actually use on Monday, done. We respect that you have a day.
Nobody will single you out
We won't ask you for money
Guests aren't expected to give anything. We mean that literally.
We won't make you stand up, wear a name tag, or introduce yourself. Sit in the back and just watch. That's completely fine.
Your kids are looked after
Lioncrest Kids runs the whole service. Secure check-in, and every volunteer is background-checked before they're near a child.

You can show up unsure, skeptical, or somewhere in between. Plenty of us are.

Josh Komanapalli
I'm Pastor Josh — someone who's learned the hard way that when God tells you to go, the wisest thing to do is go. I didn't move to DFW because the data made sense, though it does. I moved because I believe God specifically sent me here, and I'd rather build something small and obedient than something impressive and off-mission.
I've spent the last fifteen years building things from scratch — schools and hospitals across India, a church plant in Visakhapatnam, and an online academy for families here in North Dallas. I still help oversee 34 churches across India, and Bible college students I've sent out are now working to plant a church in Eswatini. I'm now in DFW full time.
Size isn't the goal, and it isn't something I'm avoiding either. What matters to me is that Lioncrest stays anchored to the Great Commission and to making real disciples, at any size.
We're not starting from scratch.
Lioncrest Church Vizag started in Pastor Josh's living room back in 2017. It's since grown into a congregation meeting in a 500-seat auditorium at Timpany School, right in the heart of the city — same vision, different continent. Pastor Madhu Kandikatla leads the church and its Bible college now.
We're also in the early stages of planting in Eswatini, in southern Africa — sent out by graduates of our Bible college in Vizag. That work is still underway.
