From a living room to Timpany School
Lioncrest Church Vizag started in 2017, in Pastor Josh Komanapalli's living room, long before he ever set foot in Prosper. Nearly a decade later, it's a congregation meeting in a 500-seat auditorium at Timpany School, right in the heart of the city.
Pastor Madhu had been working as a translator for English-speaking preachers in Vizag when Pastor Ron — Pastor Josh's cousin, who was also serving in the city — connected the two of them. God kept putting Madhu on Pastor Josh's heart, so he invited him to join the staff and train as campus pastor, with a plan to hand the Vizag campus fully over to him within a year.
God had different plans for the timeline. Pastor Madhu stayed close to Pastor Josh through his 45-day water fast, spending hours each day together in fellowship and mentoring. Over the months that followed, it became clear he was the right man for it — humble, loyal to God, and loyal to the authority God had placed over him. Then, in the summer of 2025, while Pastor Josh was away on vacation, he learned his visa no longer allowed him to preach in India. The move to DFW wasn't part of the plan — it was where God sent him next.
Pastor Madhu has led the church and its Bible college ever since, with his wife Ramya serving alongside him and the rest of the ministry leaders — training up the very graduates now working to plant a church in Eswatini.
Fifteen years ago I left the US for India, where I was born. I planted a church in Visakhapatnam and built schools across India. Pastor Madhu Kandikatla was assigned as campus pastor there, and he's done an incredible job running both the church and its Bible college — which freed me up to come home and do this again.

Prosper is growing faster than almost anywhere in the country. Most people here moved recently. Most are still figuring out where they belong. We'd like to be part of the answer to that.
